		<description>i definitely agree that a fixation or weighted emphasis on the past can be and often is detrimental to happiness.

however, i feel that honoring the past allows for a perspective of appreciation. when you can appreciate the past for what it is, you will find a richness in those experiences that might otherwise be lost. essential perhaps not, but with a healthy reverence, i feel it can enhance your happiness. my heart fills up with humanity when i think of the people and experiences (good and bad) i&#039;ve come across. i&#039;ve been fortunate.  

so the challenge then, is to find that harmony between past, present, and future without being too attached to the idea of one. that&#039;s what i think. 

also, i feel gratitude is pretty important for happiness too (as you&#039;ve noted in a previous blog). what do you think?? give us another MK pearl of wisdom.</description>
